Masterson’s Lounge, situated in the center of Moonee Ponds , advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my most recent experience at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may look welcoming at first glance , what I found behind its walls was disturbing and far below any standard .

From the moment I entered , it was evident that cleanliness was not a priority at this bar . The floors were sticky , and a foul smell of old alcohol and uncleaned toilets polluted the entire bar . With a smell of a mixture of human waste, a rotting odor and a sickly smell. The bar area , which should be the focal point of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and trash that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The lavatory was in even more deplorable shape — backed up, with a snapped lever and surfaces marked in what I can only assume was human waste .
It wasn’t just a isolated occurrence either.
